SKILLS TRAINING

Skills Training sessions are professionally coached, high-performance development sessions built to develop complete hockey players.

 

Unlike open training, these sessions are structured, intentional, and progression-based. Every drill has purpose. Every rep has feedback.

 

Skills Training takes place on our synthetic ice training rink, allowing athletes to maximize puck touches while working directly with an experienced AZ Hockey Academy coach.

 

This is where mechanics are refined, habits are built, and confidence grows.

WHAT IS SKILLS TRAINING?

Skills Training is a coach-led development session designed to advance technical skills and improve game-transfer performance.

 

Athletes receive real-time correction while working on shooting mechanics and shot selection, stickhandling and puck control, passing accuracy and puck movement, and skating integration with the puck. Sessions also emphasize game-speed decision making and situational awareness to strengthen overall hockey IQ.

 

Drills are adjusted based on each athlete’s age, skill level, and development goals to ensure proper progression and measurable improvement.

 

This is not random drill work — it is intentional, structured development built to elevate performance.

STRUCTURED SESSIONS

Private Skills Training delivers a fully customized, one-on-one development experience. Each session is built specifically around the athlete’s goals, allowing for maximum individual feedback, precise technical correction, and accelerated progression.

GROUP TRAINING

Group Skills Training creates a competitive, high-energy environment while maintaining individual coaching and correction. Athletes benefit from increased pace, shared intensity, and structured progression within a focused small-group setting.
