When you begin reading our blog, it’s important to understand something about us — we are hockey coaches first. Our experience comes from years of competing, training, and developing athletes both on and off the ice. While writing blog posts may not be what we’ve spent most of our time doing, developing hockey players absolutely is.
At AZ Hockey Academy, everything we do is built around one goal: helping athletes improve with intention and purpose.
OUR MISSION
AZ Hockey Academy is committed to developing ice hockey athletes of all ages and skill levels through a structured training environment focused on skill progression, athletic performance, and confidence building.
Our coaching philosophy is rooted in high-repetition training, professional instruction, and measurable development. We believe athletes improve fastest when they train consistently in an environment designed to challenge them while still supporting long-term growth.
OUR VISION
What began as a small training initiative has evolved into a performance-driven hockey development academy serving athletes throughout Scottsdale and the Greater Phoenix area.
Today, AZ Hockey Academy provides a comprehensive training model that includes:
Skills Training on our synthetic ice training rink
Strength & Performance Training for hockey athletes
On-Ice Skill Development sessions at local rinks
Drop-In Shooting opportunities for self-directed training
Seasonal development programs and tryout preparation camps
Our vision is to continue expanding opportunities for hockey players to train year-round in a professional environment that supports their goals at every stage of development.
We believe hockey development should be intentional, structured, and accessible — not limited to team practices alone.
COACHING STAFF
Coach Jordan Allan is the owner and founder of AZ Hockey Academy. He has created a strong presence in the hockey world with the Arizona Titans Organization and AZ Ice Arcadia, and looks to bring more success to all hockey athletes. He’s traveled and played high-level ice hockey all across the United States and Canada. Growing up, he played travel AA/AAA hockey that lead to Junior A-Tier 3 and to Junior A-Tier 2 with the Wenatchee Wild. Now his passion is not only to hockey but it’s to bettering ice hockey athletes of all ages on and off the ice. His goal is to train, educate, and advance each athlete he works with through his various services and expertise. He looks forward to working with all of you and passing on the knowledge of the game!
Coach Matt has a strong drive and passion to create successful hockey careers for the up and coming youth. Coach Matt played Major Juniors in Canada and College Hockey at Eastern Washington University. He has an excellent understanding of the game, has a great sense of humor and outstanding communication skills which makes him a great demonstrator of skating and hockey skills. With all that Coach Matt has to offer to our program, we couldn’t be more excited to see what the future has in store for him and all of the athletes he will be working with!
